Guillaume LATHELIZE
CEO
At the helm of Abyssa
A Career Guided by Winds and Tides
He quickly set sail for the corporate world, joining the Bolloré Group. During a decade of expatriation across two continents, he built his expertise: in Senegal and Togo, he managed port operations and commercial agencies. Later, in Singapore, he joined Delmas, a subsidiary of the French group, where he launched and managed new container shipping lines expanding his experience in global trade and logistics. This period, marked by deep cultural immersion, shaped his open and humanistic approach to leadership.
When Delmas was acquired by CMA CGM, Guillaume relocated to the headquarters of the Marseille-based group, eager for new challenges. After several assignments as lines director and later vice president of the commercial division, he was appointed in 2022 to lead Air Cargo, the group’s aviation division, which played a key role in its expansion. Over 17 years at the Saadé family’s group, he contributed to the company’s transformation from a maritime carrier to a global leader in integrated logistics solutions.
This pivotal chapter in his career allowed him to master every facet of the logistics chain and develop strong convictions about the maritime economy: while oceans are a cornerstone of global trade, this globalization must be sustainable and decarbonized.
This conviction led Guillaume to become an investor and mentor at Zéphyr & Borée, a start-up developing wind-assisted container vessels.
At the Helm of an Ambitious Project
At the intersection of his ecological values, passion for technological challenges, and expertise in the maritime business, he crossed paths with ABYSSA. The company resonates deeply with his aspirations: disruptive innovation, ecosystem respect, and responsible usage of ocean resources align with his values.
Guillaume Lathelize’s role at ABYSSA is as vast as the oceans he aims to explore: structuring the company for accelerated growth, securing funding, developing commercial markets, and ultimately positioning the company as a major globak player in deep-sea exploration. With a clear vision and contagious energy, he is poised to prove that ethics and performance can sail hand in hand.
The future of ABYSSA is in good hands.
