The Atelier de l’Innovation is a competition held by the Communauté Pays Basque (intercommunal authority) aimed at supporting innovative startups in the region.
Of the forty-two projects examined in 2020, the judges selected ARROILA’BYSSA, awarding it a funding grant and support tailored to the startup’s needs provided by the Pays Basque Technology Hub.
The ARROILA’BYSSA project (Arroila means Canyon in Basque) aims to improve our knowledge and produce a bathymetric map of the depths of the Capbreton submarine canyon.
The project has two objectives:
- Technical: to deploy an AUV in the damaged zones of the Capbreton submarine canyon
- Scientific: to obtain high-resolution bathymetric data, which can then be analysed and processed.
