Lionel LOUBERSAC talks about deep sea exploration on the program “Ça vous parle”

Lionel LOUBERSAC, director of ABYSSA New Caledonia and vice-president of the Maritime Cluster of New Caledonia was interviewed by Blandine GUILLET on the program “Ça vous parle”, broadcast on the Caledonia television channel. Accompanied by Martin PATRIAT, marine geologist at Ifremer who was also invited to the show, the scientists discussed the sensitive issue of deep-sea mining.

The surface area of the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone) of New Caledonia is 1.4 million km². A very large maritime space where only 20% of the seabed has been mapped. Abysses that therefore have every interest to be explored… a need met by ABYSSA!
